Laser dentistry
Gentler treatment of soft tissue which, in many cases, promotes faster healing, thanks to the Wiser 3 Doctor Smile dental laser.

The dental laser (Wiser 3 Doctor Smile) allows gentler treatment of the gums and soft tissue: often without a scalpel, with less bleeding, less discomfort and faster healing. We use it as a support in periodontics, in minor soft tissue procedures and for decontamination. It does not replace all traditional therapies, but in many cases it makes them more comfortable.
Dental care with a laser
The Wiser 3 Doctor Smile dental laser makes it possible to treat gums and soft tissue in a minimally invasive way, often without a scalpel and with less bleeding. It reduces discomfort during and after treatment and promotes faster tissue healing.
The advantages of the laser
Compared with some traditional techniques, the laser can reduce bleeding, swelling and the need for stitches, making many procedures more comfortable. It often allows a simpler post-operative recovery.
Which treatments we use it for
We use the laser mainly on soft tissue: minor gum procedures, tissue reshaping and decontamination of periodontal pockets and of the area around implants. In many of these cases it allows us to work without a scalpel and with less bleeding.
The laser in periodontics
In gum treatment the laser can be used as a support: it helps decontaminate periodontal pockets and treat inflamed tissue gently, with the aim of reducing bleeding and discomfort. It is always a complement to conventional periodontal therapy, not a replacement for it.
Laser for canker sores and cold sores
The laser can be useful as a support in managing small lesions in the mouth, such as canker sores and, in selected cases, cold sores (herpes labialis), to relieve discomfort and pain. It does not replace specific therapies: whether and when to use it is assessed case by case by the doctor.
After treatment
Recovery after a laser session is generally simple, with little swelling and discomfort and, often, no stitches. Even so, we give you instructions on hygiene and diet to support quick healing.
How it works, and is it safe?
Laser treatment takes place at the clinic with simple precautions, such as protective glasses for the patient and the clinician. It is a minimally invasive technology: in many cases it reduces or avoids the need for a scalpel.
Who it is suitable for and its limits
The laser is useful in many situations, but it does not replace all traditional therapies: it is an additional tool that, where indicated, makes treatment gentler. Whether and when to use it depends on the individual case and on the clinical assessment.
- Wiser 3 Doctor Smile laser
- Minimally invasive soft tissue treatments
- Often less bleeding and faster healing
- Greater comfort during and after the session
Frequently asked questions
Does laser treatment hurt?
It is generally well tolerated and minimally invasive. When needed, it is combined with local anesthesia.
Is the laser safe?
Yes: used with the proper precautions — such as protective glasses for the patient and the clinician — it is a safe, minimally invasive technology.
Does the laser replace the drill?
No: the laser is especially useful on soft tissue and in some specific procedures, but it does not replace all traditional therapies. It is an additional tool, where indicated.
Is anesthesia needed with the laser?
It depends on the treatment: some soft tissue procedures are more comfortable and in certain cases require less anesthesia, but the assessment is individual.
What is the laser used for at the clinic?
Mainly in periodontics, in minor soft tissue procedures, for decontamination and in the management of lesions such as canker sores or cold sores.
