Pediatric dentistry
A unit dedicated to our youngest patients, with a gentle approach and a calm environment. Pediatric care is overseen by Dr. Elena Maria Gallì.

Pediatric dentistry takes care of the teeth of children and teenagers with a gentle approach, focusing above all on prevention: sealants, fluoride applications, oral hygiene and treating cavities in baby and permanent teeth. Care for the youngest patients is coordinated by Dr. Elena Maria Gallì, the Medical Director, who specializes in pediatric dentistry. The first visit also helps the child get used to the environment, without anxiety.
A child-friendly dentist
We welcome our young patients without rushing, explaining each step in simple words, so that they experience the visit as something positive. Our first goal is prevention, and building a good relationship with dental care right from the start — one that will last a lifetime.

Why baby teeth need care too
Baby teeth are not "second-rate teeth": they are needed for chewing, speaking and guiding the growth of the permanent teeth. An untreated cavity can hurt, cause infections and damage the permanent tooth growing underneath. That is why they need to be checked and treated just like adult teeth.
Your child's first visit
The first visit is above all a chance to get to know each other: the child becomes familiar with the clinic and the dentist, while we check teeth, gums and development. No rush and no fear: the approach is gradual and tailored to the young patient.
Prevention: sealants and fluoride
Prevention is at the heart of pediatric dentistry. Sealants protect the grooves of the molars, where cavities most easily take hold, while professional fluoride applications help make the enamel more resistant to acids; whether they are indicated is assessed based on each child's cavity risk. On top of this come professional cleanings and teaching correct brushing at home.
Catching problems early
During checkups we monitor growth and alignment, so that any orthodontic problems can be caught early. Acting at the right time takes advantage of the child's growth and often simplifies or shortens future treatment.
How often to bring your child
Generally it is a good idea to schedule a checkup every six months, unless advised otherwise. Regular visits make it possible to spot early cavities right away and to keep the focus on prevention, reducing the need for more demanding treatment.

Frequently asked questions
At what age should a child first see the dentist?
A first visit is advisable within the first year of life, or in any case when the first baby teeth appear. Its main purpose is to get the child used to the environment and to set up prevention right from the start.
Do decayed baby teeth need to be treated?
Yes. Even though they "will fall out", baby teeth are needed for chewing, for speech and to guide the permanent teeth: a neglected cavity can cause pain and damage the permanent tooth.
What are sealants?
They are a thin protective resin applied to the grooves of the molars, where cavities most often form. They are well tolerated and are an effective, well-established preventive measure for molars.
How do you handle a child's fear?
Calmly and gradually: we explain each step in simple words and give the child time to feel at ease. The goal is a calm experience.
How often should checkups be scheduled?
Generally every six months, unless advised otherwise. Regular checkups help spot early cavities right away and keep up prevention.
